5 Reel Ideas - Without Showing Your Face

Does the thought of showing your face on social media scare the crap out of you?! You are not alone. While a lot of creators see a lot of success by showing up and showing more of themselves on camera- it's not the only way to grow a loyal following. So long as the content of what you share resonates with your audience, you can show up however you see fit.

Here are 5 useful tips for creating reel and tiktok video content where you do not have to show your face. Let's dive in!

1. Do a voiceover and use b-roll footage

This is the simplest way to still show up, but now show your face. You can use the voiceover feature in the Instagram app (or a third party editor, like inshot) and layer your voice over relevant b-roll footage.

2. Use the Text-to-Speech Feature

Have the app do the talking for you! Write a text overlay on your reel as you normally would, then tap on the text box that appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap the 3 dots and select "text-to-speech" to choose a voice. (I shared a separate tutorial on this- check it out in my last post!)

3. Use b-roll footage, a strong hook headline, and elaborate in your caption

Find some good BTS footage in your camera roll, write a catchy headline, and elaborate with text in your caption.

4. Create a graphic and post it with a trending audio

Using a design tool like Canva, create a graphic with vertical dimensions, write or depict your message, and pair a trending audio with it.

5. Film POV style

Instead of recording in selfie-mode, record from your point of view and show us what you are seeing. Use your voice, or use the text-to-speech feature here as well.
